Why is my plasma Ball so dim?

Plasma ball problems.( 8", 12 v, 10 w)?

• So I got this plasma ball for Christmas, and its really dim. I watched some videos on YouTube of how its normally supposed to look and mime looks nothing like that. The streams are very dim and when I touch it, it does the strong stream thing and all of the other streams disappear. Does anyone know why it does this? By the way its not a usb plasma ball (8" , 12 v, 10w).

  yes, I had the same problem with by ball. It was working beautifully at first when it was new. I think there may be a coating on the inside surface which wears off, but I cant really explain this since I dont know much about plasma balls. Alternatively a new coating may be deposited coming from the electrode, and this disrupts the proper function. Since there is a dynamic electric flow and only these two terminals involved in the operation, it seems likely that one of these is the answer to this problem. Like many things, this item is sold on its novelty merit and after you buy it , is soon conks out... That's the down side of marketing, .. !!
