What jobs involve study of nature around the world and culture?

  • I love to travel to and explore new places. I just like nature and all things different such as other cultures. What kinds of jobs involve studying nature and traveling? I see all these tv shows on discovery and nat geo and say to myself, i want to do that. As long as its possible to get. Dont say nat geo photographer because we all know that it is next to impossible to land that job. Okay so here are the questions i need answered: 1. What jobs involve travel and study of nature around the world and maybe other cultures?? 2. What degrees can i get at college that would be required for that sort of thing?? Thanks you all in advance

    Its Anthropology... you study about human beings via their history from a biological point of view, culture, ideas etc. In other words, you study the human race.

how about a journlist for a nature magazine ? There are so many divisions and sub-divisions of nature study including geology, zoologgy, botany, climatology, and so on, etc..

I've done some traveling on someone else's dime as a consultant, working through a large engineering firm. They get a contract for analysis of a proposed new highway or a big study of city planning. Then they gather the experts they need and send them out to learn what the probable impacts will be. They not only need engineers but people specializing in public health, economics, garbage collection, writing and editing, art, or (in my case) ecology. One warning: projects are much easier to get in the hellholes of the world than in the vacation spots. Don't count on being sent to the Riviera. Still, I landed a couple of weeks in the Caribbean during the winter and got paid for it.
