How to make a smoke bomb?

How can i make a great smoke bomb.?

• Ok i've tried making smoke bombs. I've tried 6 spoons of salt petre and 8 spoons of sugar. It smoked but more hot fire lol. I've wondered if salt petre sugar and baking soda would work also. I've seen the video, but not the results.

  The baking soda idea is fake, it doesn't slow the burning process and can ruin the bomb you are attempting to create. I would highly suggest a scale to measure out the ingredients by weight. You may have a lot more air in a powered substance than a grain causing an inaccurate measurement. You don't need anything fancy; a simple $10-20 kitchen scale will work fine. First make sure this is legal to make in your area. I find the way I make mine is much safer and better than the normal sugar and Potassium Nitrate mixture. You do not have to heat the substance to such a hot temperature, it's less sticky, easier to clean, more stable, lasts longer, makes a lot more smoke, and doesn't burn at such a high temperature so it stays closer to the ground. This is the best way of making the basic ones that I have seen. (read all carefully before making) Potassium Nitrate = 60g Sugar = 40g Paraffin wax = 38 to 40g (explain later) You can get the Potassium Nitrate from stump remover at places like Lowes (be careful though, Homedepot replaced their stump remover with something that's poisonous when burned). The paraffin wax can be found at some super markets (like Ralphs). Also try places that carry DIY canning materials. You may have to call around as certain locations will vary. You can get sugar anywhere. Prepare a container. Take aluminum foil and make a relatively thick bowl from it and place it inside of a cup. Leave enough foil on top to cover at the end. Measure out the ingredients. If needed, put the Potassium Nitrate into a coffee grinder to make it into a powder. Pulse it so it doesn't become too hot due to friction. Mix the sugar and Potassium Nitrate to get ready for next step. Prepare your fuse primer by either taking a small amount of the above mixture, or making a separate batch. In a small or medium pot, melt the Paraffin wax into a liquid on low heat. Be careful not to make the wax or stove too hot. Once it is melted, slowly add the sugar PN mixture and stir together. When everything is mixed, put the mixture into your container. Let it sit for about three minutes at room temperature. There should a film of clear wax on top. Poor that part off and save it if you want (this is why 38g of wax may be a better starting point, less excess at this point). Take a permanent marker (or something about the same size) and place it in the center of the wax. Put in the freezer to accelerate solidification. After about an hour or two, take the cup out and remove the marker. In that hole, place your cannon fuse and previous primer mixture. Make sure the fuse goes all the way down to the bottom. Pack in the mixture with a small wooden dowel or pencil. Fill up the hole with the packed mixture. Now wrap the top with the extra foil. You may need another layer of foil if you didn't have enough before. Now you are done. Take it and place it in a non-flammable container that wont easily melt (not nedded, but it helps). A iron can is good, but an aluminum one is not. Burn it away from flammable objects. Enjoy! :) You may also scale up the recipe for a bigger bomb.
