Stem Cell Research Proposal Essay?

Can anyone give me more info. on Stem cell research, pro-life/pro-choice, cloning, gene coding, sexuality?

• I am doing a school project for Honors Option Health and one of my topics that I need to get more information about is stem cell research. For this project I need different positions/views on stem cell research, genetic engineering, pro-choice/pro-life, cloning, gene coding, infertility- invitro fertilization- test tube- selective reproduction, and sexual identity issues. I need a bunch of different oppinions on this and it doesn't matter if you are for or against... anything helps! :) If you have any information regarding any of these topics I would love to hear as much information as you all have because this is supposed to be a long essay paper.   I'm just gonna get into some of the more controversial and go into the religious controversy which is probably the biggest source of controversy for these issues. Stem Cell- Before controversy can be pointed out a clear distinction needs to be made Adult/Embryonic stem cells. Embryonic are usually the only ones with controversy because it involves killing an entity with its own unique set of human DNA (whatever you want to call it the controversy comes from the killing of a possible human.) Adult stem cells have found many cures and are usually devoid of controversy and most of the controversy from Adult Stem Cells comes from confusion and negative connotation with the term Stem Cell Research. There was a recent discovery in which Skin Cells have been reprogrammed to mimic Embryo's function (see first source) and as far as i know that is mostly devoid of controversy Genetic Engineering- This is a fuzzy one because many people have personal issues with 'playing God' so to speak but as far as i know there is not much organized controversy with genetic engineering as long as it isnt humans were geneticaly engineering Invitro- (latin for glass) Invitro fertalization is publicly condemned by the catholic church (see second source) however i think you'll find that more Individual followers of the church are personally for it rather than against. ProLife/ProChoice- Have FUN with this one! Probably the most controversial of all of these. I personally am ProLife but don't be mistaken about ProChoice people, ProChoice doesn't mean ProAbortion, Many ProChoice people find Abortion morally wrong but believe that it is such a fuzzy subject that each person should decide on their own, or that many people will get abortions anyway and it being legal is the only thing keeping girls from getting it done by some shady dude in an ally with dirty tools.
