Does anyone have some science fair project ideas?

• School just started, but my teacher wants me to start thinking about some science fair project ideas. I really want to do a project on the topic of: Food Science or... Chemistry I've already looked at the Science Buddies website, but didn't seem to find anything. I want something that doesn't take more then 2 weeks. Oh yeah, and I'm in 11th grade, but I want something easier, like 8th or 9th grade stuff.

  Boiling water - why does having a lid on a pot bring the water to a boil faster? Where should the edges of the flame fall for the fastest boiling time (center, edge, in between) ? Can turning down the flame (smaller diameter flame) get the water boiling sooner. Does the same amount of water in a flat pan boil faster than a smaller diameter taller pan? What is the best way to tell if the pan has come to a boil? What does boiling water sound like?
