What are the dependent and independent variables?

What is the dependent and independent variables in this experiment?

  • I had to do an experiment to study muscle fatigue. In my experiment I timed people for one minute for each trial while they clicked clothespins. Then after each trial they had to write down the number of clicks they managed in that one minute. What would the dependent and independent variables be? Would the dependent variable be muscle fatigue or would it be the number of clicks? Would the independent variable be the time (one minute) or the clothespins themselves?? PLEASE HELP. • Answer:

Independent= the different people Dependent= the number of clicks The independent variable is the thing that you are changing between trials, the only thing you changed was the people The dependent variable changes in response to what you changed (Independent variable) which would be the number of clicks The clothespins themselves and time would both be controlled variables because they stay the same throughout the entire experiment
