How long does it take to get a degree for medical billing?

How long can I expect it to take to get a doctoral degree in Cognitive Neuroscience ?

  • I already have a bachelor of science degree for psychology. I'm also currently signed up for an educational masters degree program that starts in the fall of '12. While I get my educ psych masters degree I also plan to take classes that will enable me to get a 2nd bachelors degree in neuroscience. According to what I've read, this is required in order to apply to neuroscience graduate programs. The highest math and science I've taken so far is Chemistry 101 and Advanced Algebra. As a result, I have a lot of work to do to catch up in math and science, but ultimately, I'm hoping to get an estimate from someone who is knowledgeable about what it will take to get a Neuroscience degree (How long?). Also, I'm wondering if computer science is usually taught alongside/in addition to neuroscience in neuroscience programs?

  • Answer:

I myself am trying to decide whether I want to be a Neuroscientist or a Neurologist. Hopefully you know the difference, if not be sure to look it up as you may want to switch majors, as they are commonly mistaken. A Cognitive Neuroscience degree would require a PhD, which I believe takes 8 ish years. Neurology takes 12, the normal twelve for a PhD or medical degree, then I believe it is called a residency for another 4, and I am more leaning toward that, as I feel it would be worth it.
