How can I protect my electronics from electromagnetic pulses generated from any possible source ?

Answer:
Leaving them turned off still won't help, because a lightning strike could still fry them. You need them well grounded and in a Faraday cage if you want to avoid ALL pulses, including from lightning strikes.

WOW, thata a big one...start with setting up at least 4 stories below grade with at least 4 seperatly uffer grounded slabs between your equiptment. have a totaly non connected dc power system that is not charged from the service but rather the backup batteries are charged there. I recoment at least a 1 inch thick lead lined wall around your equiptment room. now at all equiptment have them isolated from all others and a grounding field at all tables and benches.this grounding should be another uffer but not connected to the 4 above

Or, just leave them turned off.
