What is the decline in the global population of honey bees?

Honey Bee population decline...is it natural, our own fault, or are we under attack?

  • Honey Bees appear to be in dramatic decline..perhaps due to pesticides, genetic modifications, or man-made climate change. But does anyone think there might be something more sinister going on such as a subtle sabotage by an adversarial country? If we lose these little guys, we lose most of our food production. What are your thoughts?

  • Answer:

Albert Einstein said that if there were no bees there would be no food. I think he was right. But I don't believe there is any reason to believe that this is any thing but cyclical. If you have been around as long as I have you would notice that all things seem to be subject to an ebb and flow type of cycle. It just seems that as the information age progresses that we are being increasingly led to be alarmed by every change we see around us and then told we are at fault. In a few years all that we are being pummeled with now will be forgotten and new perils will be invented for us to fear. Probably much more sinister than what is being propagandized now. That way they hope we will pay attention and maybe do in ignorance what ever it is they want us too. (Dump the free enterprise system will always be what they want. Just in case you didn't know that already.)

There is a theory that cell phones are to blame. So I have given up my cell phone. I dont own one. What more can I do? Have you given up yours? I think "mankind" is so selfcentered that we will kill every honey bee before we turn off our cell phone towers. Is it just cell phones or does other EM radiation cause the death of our little buddies the bees. here is a poem for you. Bees are very busy souls They have no time for Birth Controls That is why in times like these We see so many Sons of Bees.

It must be the polluted air. Look, how do you get rid of bees? Smokes. Look there is also a very serious issue, that is Genetic crops. Never ever play with your food. Changing of genetic codes with destroy harmony of the ecology. You know what will they do to cope with this situation, I bet they are changing the genetic codes of the bees to combat the decrease. End of the day, we will mess up everything and our future generations will suffer. Ok how to deal with the air pollutions? Well the US should take the lead to do something, You know US has one of the biggest continent. Drive hybrid cars. Stop production of big cars. Stop opening polluting factories in the 3rd world and pretend that it is happening somewhere else and it will not come and haunt you or harm you. Lots of education and campaigning need to be done Ok. United States, you can do it.

we are so doomed. climate change.... dwindling fish stocks.... mercury working it's way up foodchain... virus mutating.... pollinators dying off..... the list goes on.... I can't see how anybody can look at all of this and not KNOW something was going on. The naysayers want a detailed scientific carved in granite explaination. But they will be the first to accuse the scientific community of being LIBERAL ....biased...... how much evidence do they need? It's happening right before their very eyes. we're doomed.

It's possible. The Irish potato famine was caused by the English poisoning the ground. It was very effective. This could be a very subtle biological warfare, but I think too cleverly designed for most of our enemies. They usually like big things that announce their involvement and strike fear in the rest of the world. Killing little bees doesn't quite fit. Of course, if it works and we lose a lot of crops, you know there'll be a line waiting to claim responsibility.

No one really knows. It could just be some widespread disease as bubonic plague was for Europe in the mid-1300s. I'm surprised that no one, while beating their chests, cited the frog die-off a few years back. Maybe the geckos and the termites are in cahoots.
