Marilyn Vos Savant doesn't have the highest IQ in the world. At 228, there are plenty of people with higher IQ's even on that scale. William Sidis was 'estimated' at IQ of 250, on the Catell scale (SD 24) However, estimates can be off by quite a bit, but there is no doubt Sidis had a very high IQ. Basically the most intelligent people can't be assessed with IQ test, because it is just designed for common people.

Although everyone thinks it's Steven Hawking with an IQ or slightly over 200, it's actually Marilyn vos Savant with and IQ of 228. Please be sure to note however, that results can very from test to test and from day to day. There is no set way to measure intelligence as there are too many aspects to take into account (memory, problem-solving, etc), so don't put too much faith in your IQ rating. You could easily score 140 on an IQ test and still seem dumber than the dog next door.

40 years ago, a friend of mine took an official IQ test in a Chicago high school. He got the best score that had ever been recorded on that test. It made the newspapers. The reporter asked the tester what his IQ was. "The test doesn't go that high." "Give me a number." "250." For the top 100 people or so in the world, the test just isn't very useful. The most meaningful answer to your question is "over 200" and "several people, including....[insert every name that has been given]". The people who cite one specific number and person are going where the test wasn't designed to go.

I'm not sure, because even Albert Einstein's IQ is only 135... I'm not bragging, but mine's 158... am I smarter than Einstein? I just guess that the person who checked Einstein's IQ just checked it wrongly...
