How long to become an Trauma Surgeon?
-
Me and my sister got into a discussion about this the other day, how long it would take to become a trauma surgeon. If I graduate at 17 in June, and start university the same year in August how long would it take to complete all the schooling to be a certified trauma surgeon? Also how much would it cost to do all the schooling if I went to one of the top medical schools, such including Stanford and John Hopkins University?

Answer:
It would take you about 13-14 years. 4 for college, 4 for med school, 5 for general surgery, and a couple years for the fellowship. If you went to school now without aid, you'd probably looking at 200,000-250,000 in debt which would keep going up. You'd probably pay nearly a half a million after interest.
