How can I become a Doctor in Australia?

Do I need to do physics in Secondary School to become a doctor? I'm in Sydney, Australia?

  • I want to become a doctor but I'm not sure if physics is required. Here are the subjects I have decided to do: 1.Extension 1 math and in Yr 12, I'll try for Extension 2 2. Chemistry 3. Biology 4. Advanced English 5. Studies of Religion. Please tell me!

  • Answer:

College level physics is a requirement for entrance into practically all medical schools. I found it to be a rather tough course. You might have an easier time taking an introductory course in secondary school, although it is not mandatory. I would not recommend taking three sciences at the same time while in secondary school.

Other answers

Ask someone on staff at your school who knows the requirements. As a side note, if you can't successfully pass physics, you should not be a doctor.

Physics is probably required as a course, but it is not directly required in medical school. But you may have to check with a consoler to see if it is a requirement. Physics however does make medical school easier to understand. When you hear resting potential you know exactly what it means than just some arbitrary idea.
