Is Prednisone only taken once a day?

Is It Normal For Me To Spit Up or Sorta Like Throw Up With a 20 MG Prednisone?

  • I've been taking a 20 MG Prednisone Tablet WAT. I have taken it for 2 days. I take this pill twice a day one in the morning and one in the afternoon and this is my fourth does. This is the first time I spit it up. Just 2 hours ago I ate a slice of Pumpkin pie from Thanksgiving. 30 minutes after I took the pill when I was plugging the internt I could and spit it up lol kinda gross but yeah. I would say more as in coughing it up. Those this mean I need a new pill or was it normal? I dont really feel I coughed up the pill but I dont know.

    I'm taking prednisolone, which is similar to prednisone. I think I have the same thing you do, basically the lower part of my esophagus spasms, almost like hiccups/coughing up. It feels like things don't go down into your stomach that well. It's a side effect. I noticed it makes it better if I make sure to eat something consistent and then take the pill at the same time as the last bite and wash it down with a drink. edit: oh and, if you're not sure, don't take a pill. Better to accidentally miss a dose than to overdose on these things, because then your body might get used to the higher amount. That's the rule of thumb with corticosteroids.

Prednisone is a really irritating pill . some people have no problem taking it while others need to take it with a glass of milk or a piece of toast or some other food. I would assume that you are one of these people who needs to take it with milk or food when you take the pill. Just make sure that you eat something just before you take your pill and that should help. If you still keep having problems call your doctor and consult with them. Just remember even though it is a holiday weekend all doctors have someone on call.
