Vitamin C?

How many milligrams of synthetic vitamin c does it take to be equivalent to 250 mg of natural vitamin c?

  • (Supplements) I just bought natural vitamin C and 1 tablet is 250 mg. *Would that be equivalent to 500mg or 1000mg of synthetic vitamin C? I ask because I assume the natural vitamin C is way more potent. Please explain.

  • Answer:

Natural vitamin C is not more potent than synthetic vitamin C. It's just more natural. Synthetic vitamin C is stripped from foods with a man-made process. They come from foods as well. The reason why they can't be compared to natural vitamin C is that there may be other nutrients that are lost, or there may be chemicals added. So whenever possible, just try to consume natural vitamin C. Take synthetic vitamin c as a supplement for the sake of convenience - i.e. you have no time for proper foods, or you missed meals for some reason.
