What's the proper way of passing an argument to NSTimer?

Whats the proper way to dispose prescription medication?

  • I just had a minor surgery on my foot and its all healed now and Im fine. So I got some extra medicine left. I have a cream that was prescribed to me and Tylenol coated with Codine for the pain. I usually just flush the pills down the toilet but I know its not good for the environment. SO whats the proper way to dispose the prescription medication? Should I bring them back to the pharmacy and let them dispose of it properly? Or is their any other way to dispose of them properly?

  • Answer:

According to the Food and Drug Administration: Follow any specific disposal instructions on the drug label or patient information that accompanies the medication. Do not flush prescription drugs down the toilet unless this information specifically instructs you to do so. 1) If no instructions are given on the drug label and no take-back program is available in your area, throw the drugs in the household trash, but first: i) Take them out of their original containers and mix them with an undesirable substance, such as used coffee grounds or kitty litter. The medication will be less appealing to children and pets, and unrecognizable to people who may intentionally go through your trash. ii)Put them in a sealable bag, empty can, or other container to prevent the medication from leaking or breaking out of a garbage bag. I saw something on the news saying that you should put them in a plastic bag full of coffee grounds because the coffee makes the medicine break down and also makes it so pets and kids don't accidentally get into it and eat the medicine

1] some pharmacies will take back extra drugs and dispose of them for you [ call and ask ] 2] proper disposal of extera meds: a] crush them up b] mix with non-edible stuff [ ex: used coffe grounds, or used cat litter ] c] throw in trash PS: any drugs flushed down toilet go into local water tables, including cocaine etc, birth control pills, prescriptions, etc.

Many places (pharmacies, police stations, etc) have take back programs in addition to the excellent answer from the gov pages.

Flush it; municipal sewer systems are USUALLY able to break the drug into its molecular components, that do no harm to the environment. Antibiotics however, due to their constant influx on the system, and their ultimate resolve in the environment, can cause drug resistant strains of diseases to develop. This causes a never ending need to develop more effective drugs that can cure the disease, but can also possibly cause harm to other body systems not involved.

Who is going to go through the effort of taking them to the pharmacy, or crushing them and mixing them with coffee, etc, you want to throw them away, not drink them! Just throw them in the bin, but flushing them is a silly thing to do.

Flushing is totally fine. or liquids can be put down the sink.

Think it through sonny. How can anything approved to be taken as internal medication be bad for the invironment? Flush it.
