about 630 muscles however, everyone is different because some people don't have some muscles... for example, palmaris longus, which you might be able to feel or see on most people. It is a very superficial muscle on the wrist on the "anterior" aspect (or the side that is down when you would be writing something with a pen or pencil), and if you very slightly flex your wrist, you can see the tendon, but not on everyone!
