There are totall of about 70,000 muscles in the human body There are about 650 muscles in the human body known perfectley. There are around 640 named muscles in the human body - in addition to thousands of smaller (un - named) muscles. - Knowledge of muscle structure and familarisation with the major muscles of the body is an essential part of training in many therapies - such as Massage, Aromatherapy, Accupuncture, Shiatsu, and many others. about 630 muscles however, everyone is different because some people don't have some muscles... for example, palmaris longus, which you might be able to feel or see on most people. It is a very superficial muscle on the wrist on the "anterior" aspect (or the side that is down when you would be writing something with a pen or pencil), and if you very slightly flex your wrist, you can see the tendon, but not on everyone!
