What should I expect after my ACL surgery?

ACL Surgery? Do you know anything about it?

• I'm about to go through an ACL Surgery ... if you've gone through it before can you tell me what to expect. i already know its gonna take like 6 months to recover =( but anything i should know or you just want to tell me/

  I had my acl tear surgery a year ago. I went in to the surgical center at 6am and checked in. after i was called back they made me take all of my clothes off and put on a gown and head cover. they started an iv. an anesthesia dr came in and told me about how they were going to put me to sleep. also they now do a block after the surgeon is done for pain control. Within minutes of going to the surgery room i was told i would get sleepy, the next thing i know is waking up in recovery hours later. I had antiembolism stockings on both legs (very uncomfortable but very necessary) my torn acl was repaired and my leg was in a brace and very swollen with ice packs directly on the incision that was securely wrapped. i went home after i kept a snack down. within a few hours a machine was delivered to my house and put on my bed and i was to keep my leg in it while in bed which was all i did for 2 days. physical theray started then and lasted 3 times a week for 6 months. today i am as good as new except i have 5 surgical scars that are very small now. good luck it is not a bad as it seems
