What would happen if our diet lacked either iron, calcium, iodine, sodium, vitamin a, b12, or c ??

Yes could you please find a website that gives information on either iron, calcium, iodine, sodium, vitamin a, vitamin b12, or vitamin c? Yes but the information also needs to have *A statement describing the condition *A statement describing its signs and symptoms (symptoms are how you feel, signs are what the doctor can test for) *A statement of who are the likely sufferers *A statement of how it can be avoided (what dietary changes should be made). *A picture of a sufferer yes and i would like it to be imformative, like no small info. yes i need to put my referances as well so i will not just copy and paste the info (i never really do) but turn it into my own words. thnx it is an easy 10 oints to anyone who might just try. THANK-YOU mate i am looking forward to your answers. lol bb

Answer:
http://www.faqs.org/health/topics/47/Mineral-deficiency.html This page gives some info on the minerals, not on the vitamins. It may be enough to help you search for extra information. Wikipedia is actually an excellent site for information on the conditions and causes for these (I've looked at a fair few of them). I know a fair few of the condition names, if they're any help. Iron: anaemia Iodine: goitre (occurs in the thyroid) Sodium: hyponatremia vitamin A: night blindness B12: pernicious anemia C: scurvy Not sure about calcium. Hope this helps a bit.

Due to lack of iron, the haemoglobin content in a body gets decreased. As a result the person is anaemic. The blood turns pale yellow. Symptoms: yellowing of the eyes and palm. repeated tiredness even if less of work is done. Mainly teened girls get anaemic. The most worst part is that she never knows that she is anaemic. A normal girl must have a haemoglobin of atleast 11.6 . Due to the monthly discharges more no. of girls are anaemic than the boys. Anaemia can be avoided by eating the tricolour food. orange--- All the orange coloured food i.e. carrot, egg yolk, beet, oranges etc. white---- All white coloured food i.e. rice, wheat, milk, cereals, raddish etc. green--- All green coloured food i.e. green vegetables. The picture of the suffer can be seen if you stand in front of your mirror.
