What is the best medical specialty?

I hear a lot of good things about pathology. If you're a premed, or about to become one, check the link:

Dermatology. No one every woke a dermatologist up in the middle of the night to perform emergency zit removal!

I agree w/ dermatology, but it does depend on your particular goals.

What really interests you? What areas of medicine are you best at? What are your career goals (money, working environment, tasks, hours)? As others have noted, dermatology has the whole preictable hours thing going for it. Others love the rush of trauma. Still others like plastic surgery (including after car accidents), cardiology, pulmonology, delivering babies, etc. etc.

Choose whatever interests you the most. Lifestyle, reimbursement, job demand, etc. may change with time.

something that you feel in your heart(even though this sounds silly)that you never want to stop doing and know that you could do for the rest of your life even if you didn't make that much money. If you concentrate on the money you will become very unhappy no matter what the speciality. I would say any speciality in an area of the world without that kind of doctor.
