What should you do if you have extreme arthritis in your hands?

If you have any type of arthritis in your hands, can you still use your hands for jobs like DIY or gripping?

  • hi, im a 34 year old , live in the uk. i dont personally have any arthritis in any of my hands, i have slight damaged nerves in my right knuckle on my right hand, middle knuckle, from punching something immovable about 10 years ago. i have a slightly disjointed and crooked little finger on my left hand from an injury years ago....no surgery can fix it so its permanantly slightly deformed looking. but i can still grip with both hands, but not as strongly with my left hand. im just wondering if there are people outthere that have arthritis in their hands, but they can still grip tools and implements? thanks

    I still can use tools to a limited extent for maybe an hour or so a day. I'm 56 and have problems with both hands. There is a medication called Tramdol which greatly helps with the pain.
