If Universal health Care is so bad, why haven't any countries voted to get rid of it?
-
In countries like Canada and the UK, a politician never even THINKS about mentioning abolishing UHC. The health care in those countries is so beloved, that talking about getting rid of it is political suicide. Yet people in the US have you believe it is terrible, and those in the UK and Canada hate their health care system. Well, if they do, why not get rid of it? Obviously this is not true. Imagine that. Poor and lower middle class people would rather have medium-quality health care than no health care. Who would have guessed?

Answer:
First of all, Obama is not going to bring in universal healthcare. He wants to make insurance more available to all. Second, of course universal healthcover sucks. That is why we in Western Europe have it. We think, hmm, our healthcare system sucks. I know, lets keep it. I guess that is the same with Japan and Canada as well. FACT - the USA spends more on healthcare PER PERSON than any other nation on the planet. FACT - the US has higher death rates for kids aged under five than western European countries with universal health coverage. That means that a dead American four year old would have had a better chance of life if they were born in Canada, France, Cuba, Germany, Japan etc, all of which have universal health coverage.

In my country (Denmark) We pay a very high tax rate (Income tax is 40-60% depending on your income) but we have many benefits, along with universal health care. I'm SO glad that I don't live in the US. I think it's INSANE that people die of cancer because they can't afford to get the treatment they need and that those insurance companies make billions.. I mean seriously, to me health care is a human right. I could never ever live without it. And you are absolutely right, if any of the danish political parties speaks about getting rid of UHC, they'll never get a single vote. Even our most conservative parties have UHC in their plan.

you make a good point! I have worked all my life and was hurt at work and now on medicare, and I would give anything to have National Health Care, those who appose it are not in my shoes, they are lucky if they have good health insurance, but not everyone is that lucky. And why should we move over their like some are saying, that is just stupidity talking.

Why is Canada currently moving away from its current health-care system and moving quickly to a two-tier system? Why is private care within Canada doubling every year? Why do Canadians have a 35% tax rate?

Exactly. Sure, when my mother had cancer, it was a pile of *** for her that she went through all the traumatic business of having her tubes set up for chemotherapy under general anaesthetic and then they found out that one was blocked, and it had to be done all over again after a two-week delay... but without the NHS, we would have had to sell the house to pay for her treatment, and she would probably have died, because we wouldn't have been in a position to do everything possible to save her. She lived, and she's looked after very well by the NHS. They're just a bunch of ordinary men and women, and sometimes stuff goes wrong. A nationalised organisation is accountible in a different way to a private one, so all of the dirty laundry is very public. And when I went in for a minor operation, I was out by noon on the same day! They were all so kind to me, even when I came round and I was talking crap and couldn't stop shivering. Nothing but respect for them. I can't imagine living under a system where poor people were simply expected to die. Some things are more important than business.

B/C repukes succeeded in 80-90s in brainwashing the new generation against UHC ... Newt was and still is a perfect demagogue, together with a pathalogical liar Karl Rove. Unfortunately, americans on average are not that smart and can not see through repuke lies...

Yes, here in Finland it would be political suicide to speak against universal health care. Finnish people are ready to pay for health care.

Why dont you move over there then? Who is dying because of lack of health care in the united states now?

Because to them they believe it to be good, until they need specialty care. If they were used to our level of health care, they would think differently. The poor have very good health care, and the middle class can afford health insurance. Try again....your arguments are old, tired, and wrong.
Well Duh!
you got it, people who will pay nothing in are glad for others to pay for their care, brilliant
