Are you for single payer health care?
-
I can't figure out if I am for it or not. "I happen to be a proponent of single payer or universal health care coverage. That's what I'd like to see." - 2003 "My committment is to make sure that we have universal health care for all americans by the end of my first term as president...I would hope that we set up a system that allows those who can go through their employer to assess a federal system, or a state pool of some sort. But I don't think that we are going to be able to eliminate employer coverage immediately, there's gonna be poptentially some transition process I can envision a decade out or 15 years out or 20 years out." - March 2007 “If I were designing a system from scratch, I would probably go ahead with a single-payer system,” said then-Senator Obama. “I see no reason why the United States of America, the wealthiest country in the history of the world, spending 14 percent of its gross national product on health care, cannot provide basic health insurance to everybody.” - Aug 2008. "The public option is not your enemy, it is your friend." - June 2009 “I have not said that I am a supporter of a single-payer system,” - August 2009 "Nobody is talking about some government takeover of health care." - August 2009 What does my teleprompter say?

Yes, I am currently exercising that. I pay the entire bill to the doctor after my appointment, no one else is required to pay a cent.

Ahh yes Obama caught in a web of his lies. To answer the question I am against monopolies and therefore against single payer.

The problem is that most people don't understand the distinction between all these terms. Public option is not the same as universal healthcare. Socialized medicine is not the same as single-payer. Government takeover is not the same as two-tier system. Personally I'd like to see universal healthcare funded by either an insurance mandate or a single payer system.

I support single payer health care. I pay for my own already. I also pay for my family. I am a single payer paying for my family. I support this type of health care.
Against! There is no such thing as single payer... MILLIONS of Americans will be paying for those that refuse to be productive members of society!

If you are for a single payer system, I guess you support Obamacare, because that's what it is.

My teleprompter tells me, Obama is lying. That said, he seems sincere in his belief, that "single payer health care" will help our country... I happen to disagree vehemently and oppose any proposal of "reform" coming from this Socialist -- whether he is sincere or not... It may suck now, but, government-controlled, it can only become WORSE. Democrats/Illiberals believe, that the solution for every problem -- real and imagined -- is establishing a government agency charged with solving (or managing) the problem. Instead of the poor people making foolish decisions for themselves, and the rich people making evil decisions for everyone, kind, selfless, and benevolent government bureaucrats will decide everything... If an agency itself becomes a problem, another agency (or "commission", or "authority", or "tzar") will be set up to solve that. And so on, until ALL aspects of our lives are in the Government's care -- education and retirement are already covered. Health care is about to be next... Food will be a logical extension of health care -- can't have health without good nutrition, can you? Then -- shelter, public housing for all. They would like nothing less than 100% taxation with everything being "free" (government-provided) in return... Wouldn't that be terrific? The same deal was given to slaves by their masters...
yes. though you should know that the single payor system has nothing to do with the public option being debated by the dems and obstructed by the repubes...

It makes more sense than the one we have now. A for profit health care industry is immoral because it involves putting money before people and their health.
