When exactly did America become a socialist nation? Two days ago or centuries ago?

• 1. When it decided that all residents of a community should have universal, socialized fire protection? 2. When it decided that the entire populace should have roads and sidewalks regardless of income, and these structures are to be paid by tax dollars from everyone, even those who don't like roads? 3. When it was decided that tax dollars should fund space exploration, even using the tax dollars of those who hate science and have no interest in exploring other worlds? 4. When it was decided that taxpayers should support the Smithsonian, even though many do not regard museums highly; or was it when it was decided that even semi-literate citizens had to support the Library of Congress with tax dollars? 5. When even those who oppose war were required to spend tax dollars to support wars they don't personally agree with? 6. When it was decided that each person, regardless of income, should have access to a taxpayer-funded public education from the age of 6 to 18? 7. When it was decided that even people who are aqainst incarceration should pay for prisons? 8. When it was decided that even those who never write letters should support a postal system? 9. When it was decided that even those who have no interest in nature should support Federal, public parks? 10. Or was it when it was decided that elderly people should have a security net instead of leaving them to pay for insurance on the private sector which would probably deny them or charge them double their retirement income due to pre-existing conditions? 11. Was it when it was decided that America had to protect its vital interests with a CIA, an FBI, a DIA and an NSA? 12. Was it when taxpayers were forced to fund an Air Force Academy even though one could go to a private university and then join the Air Force as an officer? 13. Was it when it was decided that all people regardless of income should have healthy food and the FDA was established? Wait, it sounds like America has been socialist for decades, if not centuries. Why weren't the tea partiers out protesting when such institutions, some of which are not for the protection of the U.S. population, but rather for things they would consider expendable, i.e., Library of Congress, Smithsonian, NASA, etc. being instituted. Oh, no, I've been living in a socialist nation for 36 years now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!…

  The tea partiers protest because they don't want to pay for you little dirty democrat. If i had to choose between letting you die and not pay for universal health care or buying myself a new Tv i would definitely buy the TV and watch you go to hell.
