Do you think we'll be attacked this year on the 4th of July?

• Last year North Korea launched missiles at us but they didn't reach us. So I was wondering if it's possible they or someone else might try to do it again this year. The 4th is an excellent time to attack us because we're already making a bunch of noise with fireworks celebrations. And it would be a direct display of disrespect for celebrating our independance.

  This worry is commonly unfounded. If there's anything the past few years of investigations and increased governmental security has shown us, they are many opportunities to uncover if such a plan were in the process. Events this large do not go unnoticed or unreported, but keep in mind this is not information civilians would or should easily be completely aware of. Being paranoid about "what if?" is dangerous and the last thing the government needs is people reporting "I'm worried" and drowning out any serious reportable occurances. As for me thinking we could be attacked. In my opinion, even with the Bush administration's history of intelligence failures, the system is too large to actually allow an attack to happen, short of intentionally letting it go by. Keep in mind, people like you and me and everyone here work in these intelligence agencies, and do not want anything to happen to this country. We are safe from overseas threats (and the launch by North Korea actually showed us that they as of present cannot reach us without attempting to invade).
