Is there any way you can pick where you go when you reenlist?

My husband is reenlisting and changes his job. We want to go to San Antonio TX. He said they aren't letting him pick where he wants to go,that they will pick for him and that he can request somewhere but it prolli wont happen. Is there any way to have a better chance of being in s.a.? He is changing his job to either crypto linguist or counter intelligence.He wont be a sergeant until this summer.

no there is no way to guarantee a duty station under any circumstances. Needs of the Army prevail over all else. if there is no room for him and his MOS at FSH, he ain't going. period.
