How to prepare for CAT'10?

How do you prepare for navy SEAL drown proofing?

  • so i recently realized i wanted to be a SEAL. i was doing researcxh and watching videos and just learning about the training when i came across drownproofing. all the other torturous things in training seem fine. you just need to practice strenth and endurance but i have no idea how im gonna do drown proofing. (the 50 meter underwater swim, knot tying under water, and swimming with arms and legs bound) i know how to prepare for the other things like hell week and all those (at least i think i do) but i dont know what to do for this drown proofing. im an okay swimmier but i dont know how to swim completely underwater as in my body completely submerged. i also cant hold my breathe very long. what can i do to increase how long i can breathe underwater, swim faster underwater, and just prepare for drown proofing? thanks in advance :)

I suppose religious purists will find fault with a lot of things that go on in the military... or out of it. If you're going to join the military, you'll be joining the combat branch of the government. Regardless of the branch you join or the specialty you get, you'll receive a certain amount of combat training. That's because, being in the combat branch of the government, there's a chance... however slight... that you might see combat. In combat people die. There's no guarantee one of them won't be you. To maximize your chances of survival... yes... you might have to take the life of a fellow human being. The religious purists sit smugly in the safety of their churches and offices and preach the love of your fellow man. Yet, those "loving fellow men" would die to remove those purists from the face of the planet they believe to be exclusively theirs. Their fellow men would deprive those purists of their offices, their churches, their right to believe the way they want. Those "loving fellow men" don't care if the purists offer an olive branch. They don't care if the purists pray for peaceful solutions. They don't think of those gestures as kind, moral, or inspired by some Deity. They look on those gestures as weaknesses. It makes their endeavors to kill the infidels easier. And the purists are so steeped in dogma they will be among the first to die if the "loving fellow men" have their way. Not one of those purists have ever met one of their "loving fellow men." They're absolutely content letting somebody else make it possible for them to believe they what... while castigating those people for doing what they need to do to stay and to protect those purists from their "loving fellow men." If one joins the military, he or she is joining the military. The military isn't joining him or her. One has to make adjustments to meet the requirements of the military. One shouldn't expect the military is going to make any adjustments. If you join, you become a soldier (sailor... or whatever) that happens to be Christian (or whatever).. you're no longer a purist who happens to be a soldier. If one can't get his (or her) head around that... if one finds the job is going to conflict with his or her religious beliefs, he (or she) really probably ought to consider another line of work. Me? Retired after a quarter century in the military.

The 50 meter underwater swim and things like that are best left to the seal instructors. they'll build you up to it. Besides no one here would know how to teach you the right way. A 24 year navy seal veteran said he tried training for this from someone who wasn't qualified and ended up failing it when he was in bud/s. So best to leave it to the instructors Any kind of cardio increases lung capacity and to swim faster obviously you have to swim more

I think best thing to do is spend every spare hour you have down at the pool, running is also good for expanding the lung capacity. good luck. Have a look on this site, it may help, http://www.wikihow.com/Increase-Your-Lung-Capacity

Fish

For breathing I suggest you stay in the pool and practice holding your breath , everything is about practice , fast runners got fast by running alot and pushing their limits , it's all mental , it shows you what your body is really capable of , no worked just practice .
