How Does the Military Pay for College?

I want to know how the pay is when your a marine in college and what the cons are about military living.?

• Im 18 wanting to go into the automotive tech in the military and i was told that even if you do get shipped out to iraq you go to do your job or whatever it is you signed up for and not to fight. Also i was told that the pay when you first get in as a freshman you make about 33000 a year. I also want to know how it is living on base and the chances of being shipped out to iraq.

  Chances of being deployed are pretty good - where you deploy to I nor anyone else would have any idea. Living on base - that is going to depend on what part you mean. A base may have older living quarters but have the best food in the region. They also might have a multi screen movie theater, indoor swimming pools. The base may have brand new quarters, wireless internet but the food in the chow hall might suck - you might get a place where everything is terrible or even somewhere where everything is great.
