Would my chances be better since I have more job experiences?

Will this affect my chances of getting into Navy OCS (secret clearance question)?

  • Will this affect my chances of getting into Navy OCS (secret clearance question)? I am an American Citizen born in London and spent most of my life there until college due to my dad's job is primarily located in Europe. Since I am born in London I am automatically a permanent resident there or some sort (but not a citizen). After graduation I am planning to join Navy OCS. Will the above "foreign experiences" affect my chances of getting a secret clearance? Also how do they conduct background checks on this area?

The biggest thing about security clearances is just telling them the truth. They already know, they just want to see if you will tell them. All they'll really want to know with foreign experiences is if you did anything against America or stuff like that. As long as you haven't done anything wrong, you have nothing to worry about.
