What embassies have an educational branch within it?

Marine Vs. Army, which branch makes a more dangerous soldier? ?

  • It's been asked a thousand times, and it will be asked a thousand more. I need specific answers though, mostly pertaining to career oppurtunities, post-enlistment schooling, training, and the overasked question "Whose more dangerous physically, A Marine, or Army Infantry?" I'll break it down into numbers, I hope you can answer them. Thanks. 1. Which branch offers more career opportunities after returning to the civilian world? 2. While enlisted in one of the two branches is it likely, not possible, that an elisted serviceman will be able to obtain a degree? 3. Bootcamp has been explained to me like an initiation, with that said, which branch has a higher standard of fitness and mental preparedness that will ensure the recruit will become a functioning asset to his branch immediately after bootcamp regardless of his MOS? 4. I'm going to break this last one down into several questions actually. 4a. Which branch transforms more recruits into physically dangerous and capable combatats after bootcamp? Armed, and unarmed. 4b. Which branch offers a higher standard of Advanced Infanry Training? (Rangers, Recon, SF, and MARSOC.) 4c. I know this will be hard for some. Without bias, pride or other preconcieved connotations about each branch try to quantify and qualify the actual difficulty of becoming each of the following in order from least to greatest: Army Serviceman, Marine Serviceman, Army Infantry, Marine Infantry, Army Ranger, Marine Force Recon, Army SF, and MARSOC. I know I'm asking a lot, but I'd really like to get some answers from actual military personel from both branches. If you just watch the Military channel, and read lots of books on the military do me a favor and at least post some links or researchable acts. I would hope I seem well researched, so at least try to explain things at an above layman level. I appreciate all answers in advance, because I really need to find some of these things out before I go to MEPs with one of either recruiters.

  • Answer:

    1. Both 2. Both 3. MARINES 4. I'm going to break this last one down into several questions actually. 4a. Marines! They do hand to hand combat and shoot alot more in boot camp 4b. MARINES! 4c. Its easy. after reading many many many articles on this. The Marine Infantry is more difficult then Army Infantry. but all the special forces are pretty much equal in difficualty. Thats coming from reading some articles online(I'm sure you can find the sites, jsut look) I read an article about this once where someone said that he had spoken with someone who has worked with many people that have done all these Special forces and they pretty much say they are all equally hard (this is coming from someone who is bias towards the Marine Corp....

Neither branch makes a more dangerous soldier - I can tell you from bitter experience that the most dangerous soldier is a poorly-trained one - they're the ones that get their squad mates killed!

MARINES no contest!

Both. Don't even think that one is better than the other. They both kick a**. They do different jobs, not better than one another, just different. They work together. They are a team of Americans who believe in defending their country. I know many soldiers who have told me that the most elite POSITION is a sniper. Branches are all equal and dangerous, so the saying goes, "Mess with the best, die like the rest."

a little fricking sarcasm

I'm in the army. The marines have the tougher mission. I tip my hat to them. One team, one fight!

I would say marines. but thats me, let me tell you. ANYONE can do what a basic soldier does. Marines or Army. But wether while you in the service what YOU can do with that. All you have is YOU and what YOU can do. So say you get through basic training which is something that EVERYONE does. Ask yourself where can you go with that, for example, could you make it to Army Special Forces? how bout Marine Recon? thats the one you should really be focusing on.

There is a reason why the German army referred to the United States Marine Corps as "Tiefulhund" which means Devil Dogs in German. The Marine Corps is the deadliest branch of military in the world.

I only read the first part of your question so all I'm going to say is...the Marines don't make soldiers. The army makes soldiers. The Marine Corps makes MARINES, who are superior to soldiers. (of course I'm a bit biased)

BatGirl

Marines are always the first on the front lines.

I'll get right on it.
