Is France superior to Britain in military history?

No, there is no other country which can match Englsih/British warmongering not even the USA...yet. The French did help win the American revolution, if the French let the British resupply their troops in the 13 colonies the rebels would not have stood a chance. The last time a 'Frenchie' invaded the UK was 1066, and prince william the bastard wasnt really french but norman, man from the north. Grey when did America beat Britain, never im afraid, the 13 colony rebels with the help of the Spanish and French beat Britain. America fought Britain in 1812, the British was about to destroy Boston and a peace treaty was signed. the British had more important things todo like fight napoleon, the USA was a pointless swamp at that time and it really wasnt worth the British wasting time and money fighting some lazy rebels, also the pig wars but no shot was fired. The closest we have come to war was 1812 and arguably Britain won but officially it was a 'draw'....The USA didnt save the UK ever. WW2...after the battle of britain, long before the yanks joined, the British destroyed any chance of a nazi invasion by destroying the luftwaffe and the kriegesmarine was no match for the royal navy, germany could not have invaded the UK fact, so the yanks didnt save the UK just speeded up the war. Again America didnt beat Britain, it was the 13 colonies, USA didnt exist and America is a continent of north and south america i.e. Canada, Mexico, Argentina, Columbia USA et cetera.

As many of the settlers in America were of British decent I like to count that as more of a 'civil-war'. In any case when the Germans trooped into France in WWII you can safely say that they didn't put up anywhere near the same resistance as that seen, for several years after, by Britain. In terms of our historical record Britain has always been a top dog when it comes to defending itself and subjugating it's enemies. Only in 'recent' times have Germany, the USA and Russia/USSR come close. Not to be too nationalistic but I think it can be safely said that, with the exception of the USA, Britains armed services are about as good as it gets today also.

Nope America beat the British with a little help from the French and Dutch , But when they had to face the British face to face man to man they lost every battle , Plus the British had to save there sorry @rses from two world wars. Much thanks they got for the millions they sacrificed.

You're aware that until 1870, Germany was the punching bag of France, are you ? Plus, in the Middle-Age, France was the dominant nation (France is not the biggest country in Western-Europe for nothing), and was from 1650 to 1815 the dominant world power, until being defeated by the 7th Coalition at Waterloo. I would say that on land, the French military history is overall the best in the world, despite the defeats against Germany in 1870 and 1940 (and the nonsensical post-Iraq War Anglo-American anti-French propaganda which claims the French have never won a war). The British are good at propaganda (see Agincourt, where the number of French soldiers is heavily exaggerated, or Waterloo, where the British army was losing until the Prussian reinforcements showed up, or finally how they forget to mention that the Germans, during the battle of France in WW2, handed their a** to them the same way than with the French but still somehow managed to make Dunkirk look like a victory instead of a desperate retreat), but they generally fought on land only after making sure their enemy had been weakened by their allies. On water, there's no doubt, the British military history is by far superior. If Britain had the biggest Empire ever and ruled the world from 1815 to WW1, it's only because of its incredible navy. Its domination was almost total, as it more than once humiliated the French and Spanish navies (which were far from weak), sometimes at the same time.

Please give us a rest with this propaganda.. How can you guys be so stupid, some months ago i thought i would try to teach history to some people. But unfortunately its impossible, you can't learn anything about history. If France or even the Uk (since you talk about them) could be such "failures" when they have the largest territory in Europe (with all the extern territory). Same for the for the language, English is the main language, French second. What about you germans?Inexistant.. the only place talking german is.. germany?
