He said once everything is good to go hes going to be getting appointments for my tests he said. I was just wondering if you guys can provide me some information how i should prepare for my interview. I just want to be Successful on it. When i leave the interview i want the Interviewer to say THIS IS THE APPLICANT that deserves a spot in our Regiment. Most people are saying learn about the Trade ive applied for (INFANTRY). How should i Dress and what kind of questions will the interviewer be asking(just so i can get myself Ready for it.i want to prepare my answers for it.)

Answer:
When I joined, a few year ago now, most of the questions were about my life. What I did in my time off, what I did for fun, basically who are you. The only question that got me to the point I still remember it was "Do you think you could kill someone?" I'm still not sure what the answer should have been, but I'm postitive an enthusiastic "Oh yeah!" would be the wrong answer. During the interview just be yourself. That is who they want to see there, not a rehearsed puppet. Just be prepared for questions like what do you think of the military, where do you see yourself in 5 or 10 years etc. same as any interview. As to what to wear. This is a job interview. At a minimum pants and a shirt with a collar. If you dont have a shirt with a collar then the best shirt and jeans you have. Also make sure you are well groomed. It matters.

Shave and a haircut, and clean clothes and finger nails. Brush your teeth, and comb your hair. The testing questions are basic math ( no calculators allowed ) visual problems ( find patterns and shapes ) history of the CF, problem solving ( how do you put 10 guys in a 5 man tent ) how to do simple reports, and of course physical fitness. The MOST common reason for rejection is a lack of physical fitness. A positive attitude ( with out being a smart guy ) and showing respect to those that you are dealing with are all good things. Remember that the people who are IN the CF NOW, all started out as "newbies " some time in the past. No body was BORN a SGT, or a Major. They ALL had to learn and GROW into their present rank and duties. The Reserve Land Force is the "farm team " for the Regulars, to use a hockey expression. You will get the same training as the Regs do, just on a longer time table as you are doing it "part time " rather than full time. Many Reserve units are like a big family, with Fathers and sons serving together, or brothers in the same unit. My old Regiment has been around for over 120 years, and if you look at the Regimental history, the same family names keep showing up, every generation. We have had 5 Colonels who came from the same family, and we once had a Regimental Sgt Major, his son and grandson, ALL serving at the same time, all named Elms. The youngest one is now a full Colonel, retired after a 35 year career in the Regs. His last command was a reserve Regiment in Hamilton, Ontario. Citizen soldiers is the name that we use to describe the Reserve units, as they serve, but also have a full time job, in civilian life. It is not unusual for an individual to serve their entire career in a Reserve unit, up to 30 years, in some cases. A good idea is to ..............Listen and learn and keep your ears open and your mouth shut, unless you are asked a question. Good Luck. Jim B Toronto.
