What jobs in the marines are availiable with a score of 43 on the asvab?

  • Im not dumb i just didnt study at all, but my recruiter told me i cant retake it till after boot camp(in 9months). I probably had the lowest score of everybody around me and i felt stupid but im stuck with this score so what might be my job opportunities?

    I got a 60 and I thought it was bad, but your recuiter lied you can retake it in I think 30 days not 9 months. But your not dumb There was a girl at meps that got so nervous she scored a 17

The 43 is your AFQT...which is only used to get you in...which for the Marines you need a 32. Jobs depend on your individual line scores and what is available. With a 43 your line scores aren't going to be great either. So you will basically qualify for sh*tty jobs more than likely. And honestly with a 43 feel lucky to take what they offer. The ASVAB is based off of 10th grade level knowledge and education. You shouldn't need to study to get a decent score.

I would wait to take it again, and you can study. I dont know what the hell these other guys are talking about, study ACT and SAT questions. Take the practive ASVAB a few times, see what you're weak in and study that category. If you dont want to wait, then talk to your recruiter about what job opportunities you may have, otherwise do the research yourself.
