EDIT Now that you were kind enought to explain your purpose here.... seeking answers from the military mind which you seem to have stereotyped 1) Neither option.... I would unbuckle myself....move over and place myself between the oncoming vehicle and my mother.... wrap my arms around her head ....and hope one of us survived 2) Not inclined to carry a weapon outside of combat....but lets say I did..... I am excellent with a rifle not very bad with any handgun....
