What is the correctional officer program like?

Mavni pilot program - officer possible ? How ?

• Hey there ! I'm in a catch 22 situation here . I am from the magnificent land of India ! (well not so magnificent for me I suppose ) and I have heard about the mavni program . I'm not in the USA right now and i'm currently a law student at a reputed college pursuing the five year LLB program . Well , Assuming I get into an American university and I'm granted a visa (F-1) for my LLM and I apply for the MAVNI program after two years of stay (the required period) and do everything right (according to the requirement) would I be able to apply for the post of an officer in the US army after getting my citizenship after BCT . WHY I WANT TO APPLY FOR THE POST OF AN OFFICER AND NOT JAG IS THAT AMERICA USES JD AND NOT LLM . WHAT would my furure FELLOW MAVNI ENLISTEES do after their 8 years of service ? I'd be so screwed if I'm not allowed for the post of officer as I do not have any educational qualification that can grant me a job . Do I ? Also all this is really hypothetical I mean what if this program doesn't stay till the time I graduate and come over to good ole USA . I mean I LOVE this country . I hate India . I want to use MAVNI as a way to become American I don't have any problem serving anywhere or for 8 years . The reward of citizenship and the us army uniform with the flag is enough to lure me into joining it . P.S. I am so DESPERATE to be an American . I've been there a few times and the people seem so awesome , fun loving and good . Please don't get angry and READ this completely and give me a solution to my can of worms / predicament

  one MAVNI is no longer a viable program. two: it may never be opened up again Three: gaining citizenship does NOT mean you are qualified for a commission, or that you will ever be allowed to apply for one, let alone be selected. Four : JAG are Officers. you are not qualified to be a JAG officer without the JD in hand. there is no guarantee the degree you do have will be sufficient to get you a commission in any other area.
