How do you submit a movie script?

Can i legally submit/post a script to a movie sequel online?

• specifically, is it illegal to submit the script if it has a similar title and storyline, but with totally new characters? if it is, then what would i need to change? or who would i need permission from to submit it legally?

  You can't copyright something like a title or a general storyline. If your characters are different and your storyline is "similar" at best, then you're in the clear. When it comes to things like fan fiction, they technically infringe on copyright. The person that hold the copyright has the sole authority to make "derivative works", i.e. sequels, adaptations, etc. So if you wrote a sequel to an existing movie, that wouldn't be allowed, though no one would care as long as you didn't try to profit off of it.
