  You do know that the real D of I included some very specific complaints that could only be remedied by complete separation? Independence means the new US didn't owe Great Britain anything and vice versa. Are you willing to work that arrangement with your parents? Because they are gonna ask :) I suggest that you ask them to see a family counselor with you to identify and work through the issues you have. If they can't or won't do that, ask a trusted teacher or adult at school to help you find a counselor you can see yourself.
