What exactly is a retail investigator?

What do the officers in the streets do? can you work as a csi then advance to a criminal investigator?

  • Pioir to become a criminal investigator we have to start off in the street right? but please explain to wat is done in the streets, wat jobs we have to do and how many years will it take to finaaly become a investigator, if i were to become a Crime scene investigator for a f ew years can i still advance to becomin a criminal investigator?

  • Answer:

Crime Scene Investigators or CSI's have educations in Forensic Science, Biology, Chemistry, and/or other scientific areas. These people collect, process, review, test, and document evidence. A Criminal Investigator is generally someone who has been a street cop for many years, more than likely has earned a degree in Criminal Justice, and was promoted through the ranks. A CSI and a Criminal Investigator are two totally different career fields...it's not like CSI:Miami.
