What are the steps of a civil case?

Can I, how or what are the steps to file an abandonment case againts my ex-bf for our child?

• includes the fact that: a. we are not married b. he left us without saying anything, no contact since 2005 (our child was born 2004) c. he acknowledge the child, along with our child's birth certificate attached an affidavit / admission of paternity. (notarized, locally and NSO validated) for the past 6 years I never bothered to file againts him or come after him since I managed to find a job up until 2010. At this moment, I had a hard time with my finances, I found his profile on a social networking site and send him a message but to no avail. I was asking for help just for the child's enrollment but I think he/new partner just ignored the fact the child is needing a support. I am thinking of filing a case against him, for the sake of our child's education. I seek for help or an idea how to do it the right way. thank you for your response

  Why did you wait so long? Go take him to court for child support! If you have documentation he IS the father, you should have no problem getting it!! He will NOT ignore a Court summons.
