How do i get the post office to make a ramp when it was built before the ramp law?

  • The Post Office was build before the laws about ramps in public federal buildings. How do i get them to buld a ramp in place of one of the old stiarcaises (which isnt even the main staircase?)

If the United States Postal Service has a post office that does not comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act, you can begin with the Postmaster General of the United States, your U.S. Representative and BOTH Senators for your state. Write them, or better still, email them. Also, get in touch with someone at your local newspaper. If you can get any one of them to acknowledge your problem, you just might see a ramp appear out of thin air. If you have tried the Postmaster General or the members of congress without having something done, then for sure, contract the media!

Sue under the Americans with Disabilties Act. They still have to COMPLY to that act, that is how it was written. If there is a ramp somewhere on the building though they may be compling and if that is the case stop being so picky about where you go in.
