A question concerning Civil and Private Law?

LEGAL question, please: Why is US law so lax concerning abuse by HOTELIERS?

  • In the past year, not really being a tourist, but someone in need of living temporarily in a hotel or similar, I have encountered the most unbeliable behavior both by hotel owners (or managers) and by the police officers trying to assist in some of the problems caused by these kinds of people. The problems (never altercations but rather disguised harrasment) include the most incredible of ways of disservice to customers; the endangering even of human life by not complying with the basic fire safety , electric and hygiene recommendation, mold issues, etc. and the clear fact that these hoteliers are CHEATING government in their tax returns even!!!!!, are never REALLY AN ISSUE for the POLICE! I do know I could bring suit against them and could also alert all pertinent authorities about all other issues, but regarding KICKING SOMEONE out of "their" premises even when customer pays on time and causes NO PROBLEMS, and at same time warned and threatened by the POLICE of being

    I have no doubt that you have encountered hotels that did not deliver service, to say the least. It would have been helpful if you could have shared a name or perhaps a region in the US - large city or small rural town. Problems that you encountered should have been reported to management/corporate offices else they will just continue on and harass more people like your self.
