Why is it not called Rape when you sexually violate an animal/pet?

  • For rape it get a longer jail sentence... Rape is Rape and do you possibly think that the poor innocent animal actually would want such a thing to happen to it,and any one who thinks that it would want it is just as sick as a Rapist!

If the animal is attractive then I think the person who commits the act is guilty of rape otherwise it should be treated as animal cruelty.

There's a legal definition of rape and a common definition of rape. In the legal sense, the definition involves human sexual behavior. In common usage, it could very well involve an animal. Some people might even say "I was 'raped' by the loan shark." even though it didn't involve sexual behavior at all. It is used more in the sense of "violated."
