Can driving records from Massachusetts be pulled in Arizona?

I was pulled over for driving without lights in Nebraska (statute 60-6219) and I want to contest it in court.?

  • I was pulling out of a parking lot and onto a main street without my lights on and I drove for 2-3 blocks with my lights off (my old car turns itself on, this is a new car) and when I remembered I turned my lights on right away. About 2-3 more blocks of driving WITH my lights on I got tailed by a police vehicle and pulled over. The officer gave me a ticket for driving without lights and also for improper display of plates (I haven't replaced the plates belonging to the former owner). My question is: since my lights were on BEFORE he pulled me over and they were on WHEN he pulled over can I contest this in court? He said he saw me driving without my lights for a stretch but then he has to have also seen me turning them on way before he even started to follow me. I have to go to court anyway to present proof of my new plates and I'm just wondering if it's worth the effort to contest the lights misdemeanor or should I just take the class? Any lawyers out there?

  • Answer:

Check with a lawyer in your jurisdiction to make sure, but I'm almost positive that if a police officer witnesses a violation, he can wait a little bit before he pulls you over for that violation.
