What are the "disqualifying mental disabilities" for government jobs?

Federal government favors what disabilities when awarding jobs?

  • The Federal Government favors certain disabilities when awarding contracts to businesses due to the american disabilities act. What are these disabilities? Disabled Veteran, Ethnic, or what?

  • Answer:

First of all, the Gov't doesn't choose one disability over another. The GSA keeps a list of Historically Underutilized Businesses (HUBs) which are separately certified. You have to apply and get accepted. But that doesn't guarantee business from the govt. In order to get certified by the GSA, the business needs to convince them that they can do whatever work they are qualified to do as well as other (non-HUB) businesses competing for the govt contract. Now, in order to fit into the disability slot, the owner has to have a disability that fits the definition in the ADA. But the govt doesn't pick blind over mobile impaired persons. It just doesn't work like that.
