Do you feel the FDA should allow 2,500,000 people to die by Monsanto's refusal to stop Aspartame manufacture?

I am allergic to it. One sip and I swell shut. It should be outlawed along with sulfites. They are certain death to some of us. They are dishing neuro toxins to us in almost everything now. Like our flu shots for example. Even the mercury free shots have traces. Our children's vaccines are dangerous. The dumbing down of America continues.

Nothing is safe to eat anymore. I'm seriously thinking of taking up eating boogers. .

I also feel that it should be banned. I do not ingest anything with aspartame in it as I have a very severe reaction to it. However, I can take aspartic acid and phenylalanine separately with no problems at all, so the problem is with how aspartame is made. I also think that sucralose should be banned. My doctor said that sucralose is a neuro toxin. I believe him because of the severe reactions I also have with this product.

I don't know if your sources are legitmate or not, but all I know is that I used to have horrible daily headaches when I used that stuff. I researched as much as I could about it and became very frightened about what I was reading. I quit using it entirely and will not buy any products that contain it now. After a few weeks of not using it my daily headaches went away. It's better to be safe than sorry.

I know you are concerned, but your information is not coming from reliable sources. That article you linked has NO supporting evidence for the claims it makes. Believe me, if 2.5 million people were dying every year, you would hear a LOT more about it in the media. Phenylketonuria, or PKU, is a very rare genetic disorder where you cannot process aspartame correctly. They now do blood tests on newborns to see if they have PKU. Also, PKU is related to phenylalanine, a naturally occuring substance. Not only do they have to avoid aspartame, but also many other foods that are otherwise healthy, because they have the amino acid phenylalanine. Phenylalanine is NOT formadehyde. Again, if 2.5 million people die every year, you would hear about it. The FDA pulls drugs off the market if they kill a few people, no matter how much money the pharmaceutical company has. That article is so full of lies, I don't know if there is anything true. Here is an example: "At cold temperatures, methanol will spontaneously give rise to a colorless toxin known as formaldehyde" I work with methanol at my job, and I can tell you it does not spontaneously make formaldehyde. Hypothetically, there is some catalyst out there that facilitates MeOH->Formaldehyde, but cold temperatures make reactions slower, not faster. And if soft drinks really had methanol in them, everyone would go blind and die after their first drink.

Forget about looking for the report you mentioned because it should not become a factor once the evidence has been presented. Simply because Rush Limbaugh or an approved government report made a statement that Monsanto is a respectable company does not automatically grant their access into Heaven. Point in case : Monsanto and all subsidiaries are connected with such memorable points in human history as Ridding our drives from weed growth with ROUND UP, manufacturing extremely toxic chemicals such as DDT, Agent Orange and Sulfuric Acid and now through massive cash lobbying, have allowed BHG or the Bovine Growth Hormone to be required for all consumable meat even though the negative aspects far outweigh the possible benefits. In fact, Rupert Murdoch's Fox News show West 57th prepared to inform the public of the unavoidable dangers of the Monsanto product but the CEO of Fox and their corporate Attorneys had more money along with the PAC money that paid their Republican friends in office and so it was never heard. Actually, the well known reporters were terminated and the show was summarily canceled. Then there was Anniston Alabama. As it turns out, a Monsanto Plant in promised a boost in the poverty Southern town and it did, but with a price. A staggering percentage of the residence die every year from a vast array of cancers that cannot be confined to a single cause other than the Toxic waste that is produced at the Monsanto sight. A total of 40 years passed as Monsanto dumped PCB's intoa creek that provided drinking water for the town. After a $700 Million Dollar award with a promise of removal, the clean up has not happened. Toxic waste is not a subject that Monsanto hasn't gotten a notice about only once nor are the illegal methods they use in order to get that extra million or so into the corporate bank account. Convictions for Toxic waste dumping as well in the United Kingdom. Bribery convictions, False Advertising and multiple counts of Child Labor Law violations have been DOCUMENTED against this marvelous company that would never have produced a product such as Aspartame that is understood to produce a small amount of fatalities ! There was one other thing about that company that I was attempting to remember but it is a little vague. Oh, Yes. I remember it now and surprising that I almost forgot about the Styrene. You see, Monsanto decided that killing insects, poor people and eventually many sectors of the population was simply not sufficient enough to explain the level of respect the company deserved. With as many Politicians in their pockets as money could possibly buy, they went after the planet. In one location, they almost succeeded. As most people ( Non Rush listeners) remember, Styrene is a product that takes about 10,000 years to breakdown once discarded and so, naturally, Monsanto insisted on everything on the planet being made from their new "Miracle" product. A little plant that made Styrene in the vicinity of Galveston Texas had managed to accomplish similar results as in Alabama but with a little more excitement. Monsanto exec's felt that worker safety and those pesky Government guidelines were a waste of time and money until the plant exploded. Galveston Bay nearly became a MEMORY. No. Monsanto has no reason to remain a part of the lives of anyone breathing "somewhat" clean air of the World. Do you remember the Ford Pinto? The car exploded if rear ended in an accident. Allowing Monsanto to produce a product with the potential to kill ANYONE would be akin to a Government approval for the Ford Motor Companies 2009 Ford Pinto (Complete with a fire extinguisher)

Aspartame will NOT cause the deaths of either 2,500,000 or 25,000,000 people. (You can't even get your supposed "facts" straight within a single post.) Aspartame, because it's been the target of this online smear campaign for years, is one of the most researched food products in the marketplace, and there is absolutely no evidence whatsoever to support these anecdotal horror stories about unidentifiable "Uncle Johns" dropping dead from Aspartame poisoning. I find this a tough question to answer I feel that in order to be reasonable we must make the public aware when there are risks however, if the death rates are low and none intrusive to the general population then I would say only to some degree. I have been chemically poisoned when I was younger but survived the ordeal and while I do not feel that this was fair I still find that enough quality of life existed for me to not want to kill myself. I ended up with two children and my wife died of cancer at an early age most likely the effects of environments she was subjected to. Again the losses are minimal in comparison to the gains in knowledge we aquire over time. While I don't want to die in discomfort die I will be it by the desease or by another means. People have benefited as a whole and live longer then ever before this may be adjusted up or down depending on evolutionary advances our bodies can make. Someone who smokes does not always die of cancer for example but smoking is bad for your health yet more people are in worse shape from being obese. My sugestion do anything but go it in moderation this way you can have a trap door to open. some risk is warranted in life as long as there is room to escape when required

In the 70`s i went to a lecture about Chemical Brews and this chemist told us that they brew up with 500 different products ,for the market and set up study groups to try the stuff and you have to sign a waver that if you fall over dead you can`t sue them or if things fall off your body like you know what .. Now they must be just on double shift cranking out the junk and stuffing it in things, look at the Melamine in candy bars and powder milk killing children around the world no matter what you know that it is a way to bring down the population you think ?
