How much should you expect for a wrongful arrest settlement?

What Kind of settlement can you expect In a wrongful Arrest case CANADA PLZ>?

• I just posted a recent question regarding my wife being falsely accused and arrested for Theft under $5000 By the Wall Mart Rent a Cop in Powell River B.C. She was Placed in hand cuffs and marched through the store for everyone to see, she was told to "shut the fu*k up and sit down" she was refused the use of the bathroom.. so on and so on.. a whole bunch of nasty stuff for someone that had the proof she did not steal anything in her purse ( receipt) . So all judgment as to whether there is more to it or not, What kind of settlement ( Dollar Value) offer would you expect from wall mart in this kind of situation.? keeping in mind that criminal charges of assault and forcible confinement are going to be brought against the rent a cop in this case. Also are the stores able to settle this issue on their own before we take it to the courts? or does this need to see a judge? We would like them to settle before christmas as their are a few family's in town we would like to donate the proceeds of this settlement to that otherwise would not be able to give their kids the christmas they deserve.

  I strongly feel that your case can be brought into human rights violation by the state and pecuniary and tort compensation for illegal detention moral damages (hand cuffing etc.), misconduct by officials etc. etc. The exact value in dollars is very difficult to state now, as these falls under non tangibles. It depends upon a good lawyer (in court) or a mediator (if you wish a settlement and they are also ready). Any way consult a good lawyer. regards Mano Indian Air Force Retd.
