Google Earth, Illegal spying machine?!?
-
Can the government use google earth to find out locations of army bases now? Or do some countries, Like North Korea for example, not let people see their stuff. Like can the Government legally take pictures of other countries land and military bases. I mean have you seen how high quality google earth is?! The military must have even better cameras in space right? So can we spy on whomever, whenever?

Answer:
Most if not all Google earth photos are outdated and therefor do not represent the areas as they are now. Most military bases are "fogged". If you only knew how much better satellite images are for the military and intelligence organizations it would probably scare you. At least give you that tingly feeling like when someone is watching you from across a room. Big daddy is always watch at the speed of light in real time, not outdated photos like you have access to. The government sees everything. So no it is not an illegal spying machine, but a neat tool for every day people.

There are certain areas that Google Earth doesn't have images for. For example, the tops of the White House and the surrounding buildings are blocked out. Also remember that some of the images could be quite old.

Don't get too paranoic. There is information on the web that the military have spying satellites that can even "see" the drops of sweat over the people's faces. Google Earth might seem a miraculous gadget but at its best you can watch people on streets but no other body or facial information. Oh, yes, and the color of vehicles. Nothing to worry about. You must worry for other spying agencies.

I have heard some bases are on Google Earth, yet not all. And yes our country can spy on other countries from space with no problems. They do from what I am told.

THE MILITARY WOULDENT EVEN BOTHER WITH 4 YEAR OLD PICS THAT GOOGLE EARTH PROVIDES...THE MILITARY DOES HAVE SATTELITES IN SPACE THAT PRODUCE FAR BETTER PICTURES. THIS IS HOW THE GOVERNMENT GETS INFORMATION AND INTELLIGENCE.
