Will a deferred adjudication show up on a FBI background check?

I need to do a FBI fingerprint background check. Will this only show my pass 10 years only?

  • The reason why I ask is because I am 30 years old now and I have felony when I was 16 years old. So for employer reason they are going to do a FBI fingerprint background check and I dont want that to show up.

  • Answer:

The real question is, how far back the people looking at your report will consider significant! Keep in mind that at 16 you were pretty close to being an adult! If I were you, I would assume someone is going to see it. Depending on the agency that's requesting it, they could consider anything that happened in a past life as significant, for example a security clearance, military, government agency, law enforcement! So, be prepared to answer some questions about your "felony"! I hope you didn't forget to put something down on your application or whatever you're applying for! If you said no, and they explicitly asked you if you were convicted of a felony and you said NO, you will be disqualified the moment they match up the documents! In today's market, at best, you're a "wild card"! >"I dont want that to show up" I bet you didn't think too much about the consequences at the time, did you!? Who knows maybe they'll invent a "time machine"!
