Why do lawyers control their own misconduct issues?

That's right, if you have a complaint of lawyer misconduct, the current system rules allows you to bring your complaint in front of a group of lawyers. Our Country is run by lawyers, even in Network News; like CNN, FOX, MSNBC. Did you know the news anchors for these programs are lawyers first? Just ask some of them if they have a law degree. We need smart people... not lawyers, judging their own misconduct cases. Susan L. [email protected]

You are absolutely right that lawyers govern themselves. The reason is obvious. Not only do they control most the media as you said, they also control our government. If you look at most of the people in congress; house of representatives as well as the senate, you will see the majority of them have law degrees. If you check, you will also find a good number of the presidents we have had also have had law degrees. So, if the people writing the laws that govern the attorneys are attorneys themselves, how can we expect fair governance. It's like asking the fox to guard the hen house.
