A sample of medical certificate?

Does anyone notice the similarities between Obama's newly released birth certificate and this sample one.?

  • Look at the dates in the boxes in 18b. Obama's: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:President_Barack_Obama%27s_long_form_birth_certificate.jpg Sample: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:1961_Hawaii_Certificate_Of_Live_Birth.jpg

  • Answer:

Yes, the date in the 18b boxes were both written by the same person, but that is the only unusual finding between the two certificates, and it's not that unusual. Both birth certificates were issued by the same hospital on the same day (to clarify, I mean both births and parent signatures were on the same day, but due to whatever administrative delays the final registration dates differ by 3 days between the two certificates). The most likely explanation is that the parents were asked to sign the certificate but did not (or forgot) to write in the date beside their signature. Whatever staff member or secretary was on duty would have noticed this and written in the date on behalf of the parents, and it seems reasonable that it would be the same hospital worker writing in the date for both certificates. The certificates were then put in a pile for attendants to sign-off on (1 day later for Obama's, 4 days for the sample) and then the certificates were submitted to the registrar.
