Should Corporations be exempt from Federal and State Taxation?

  • For over 20 years companies have jumped states to get the sweet deals of not paying into the state tax.In the past 10 years under the Bush tax cuts 60% of corporations earning over 1 million dollars per year pay 0% in federal tax. Leaving these companies paying no taxes at all. With only 53% of Americans not paying federal taxes because of low wages, poverty and Massive unemployment, should these companies continue to receive corporate welfare?

    we need to bring back the pre reagan era fed tax rates on corporations and the rich . ok , i hear the cons say it is bad to raise taxes when the economy is bad . well , the good news is - the economy is no longer bad . wall street analysts are saying that in 2011 , publicly traded corporations ( those that issue stocks ) made THEE MOST PROFITS , ever , in history . they are sitting on trillions of dollars in ' reserves ' .

Absolutely not. Consumer, merchant or corporation, every single entity in the United States should be required to pay taxes. I have no issue with paying my taxes because I know what my taxes pay for. However, I do have an issue with money coming out of my hard earned money, yet a multi-million dollar corporation skirts its taxes due to some ridiculous loophole.

Yes and NO , I think it definately depends on how sucessful the corporation is and should be based on that . I dont' like seeing millionares getting major breaks , but I don't like seeing the little guy who's struggling suffer either .

uh no! they shoul dbe paying a heck of a lot more per what they make then the normal citizen who would normally thrive had it not been for the handicaping taxes

Sorry I don't believe that. You are listening to too many neo-Marxists bigots. The corporate tax rate is 35% last I heard. They do get special exemptions if they put money where the politicians want them to put it. That's more efficient and cheaper than collecting taxes from some corporations then subsidizing other corporations to do what the politicians want. At the direction of politicians the corporations spend their money benefiting the public (or just the politicians' reelection by feeding their constituents), at a profit of course, but don't pay taxes on the profit doing it. That seems better all around than you paying for the benefits out of your pocket. Of course if you are indoctrinated to hate corporations and begrudge them every penny, and prefer draining taxpayers including yourself just so corporations don't get anything extra, you won't like that. Nobody, particularly corporations should make a lot more than you do ... ah, you mean the poor people do. That isn't "fair" is it? PS: Workers incomes are dropping because huge hordes of excess labor from grossly overpopulating Asian cultures are sucking them away along with whole industries to the tiny wages they desperately accept. My overpopulating Irish relatives, and other overpopulating European cultures, did that there and in North America where they invaded during the 19th and early 20th century.
